I am thrilled to share that our poster won the Best Poster Prize at the PHRT/SPHN From Technology to Treatment conference (August 2025), shared with my colleague Philippe Forero.

Our poster presented our current framework for building personalized digital twins of spinal cord injury (SCI) individuals, integrating medical imaging-derived models of the spinal cord, the spinal circuits, and the musculoskeletal body. By combining these complementary modelling layers into a unified, patient-specific framework, we aim to capture the full anatomical and functional complexity relevant to therapeutic interventions.
We demonstrated the application of this complete framework in the context of clinical trials exploring epidural electrical stimulation (EES) in SCI individuals — showing how personalized models can guide implantation, inform stimulation parameters, and ultimately help translate neurotechnology from the lab to the clinic.
